The 2012 Home Team work is underway!
Welcome to the Bosnia IST Home Team! There are lots of ways for YOU (the Home Team) to support the trip: from financial donations to making Hug Pillows, decorating tote bags, donating sports equipment or offering prayer support. There are five main Home Team areas: 1. Prayer Support
2. Friendship Camp Sponsorship
3. Sewing Project
4. Tote Bag decorating
5. Sports Equipment donations
1. Prayer Support
Please pray for peace and reconciliation for the people and communities of Bosnia, the Balkans and the whole world. Please pray for our Travel Team and Home Team. Please pray for our in-country Coordinators and Interpreters. Please pray for the children and teachers who will attend our Friendship Camps this summer.
In early June we will post a devotional booklet for use during the Trip. When it is prepared we will post it here!
2. Friendship Camp Sponsorship
This summer’s Bosnia IST will host 8 Friendship Camps throughout Bosnia. These camps are for children ages 10-13 (and anyone else who shows up!), and will work to bring Healing, Hope & Peace into their lives and their communities. Each camp has anywhere from 60-350+ students, with 10-20 teachers present. We expect to serve over 1,400 children this summer. Financial sponsorship of these Friendship Camps is a crucial need for the success of this ministry. Here is the list of Camps and their Sponsors. Please send your financial donation of any size (tax-deductable, of course!), to: Bosnia IST, New Jersey Synod, 1930 Highway 33, Hamilton Square, NJ 08690. If possible, please include this donation form.
3. 2012 Sewing Project
WE'RE MAKING HUG PILLOWS!
This year's Sewing Project is Hug Pillows(back by popular demand)! These will be such a treasured gift for all of the children at the Friendship Camps and the Mostar Orphanage where the Travel Team will stay. Hug Pillow instructions here. For Hug Pillow supplies, or if you have any questions or concerns, please contact our Sewing Project Captain Peg Klophaus.
4. Tote Bag decorating
Each year the Home Team hand-decorates a canvas tote bag for every child and teacher that attends one of our Friendship Camps. To receive tote bags for you or your group to decorate (1 dozen, 2 dozen or more!), please contact one of our Tote Bag Coordinators: North Jersey (based in Wayne, NJ): Cliff Konnerth

5. Sports Equipment donations
SEND A CAMP TO KIDS!
Each year we send sports equipment for the schools to use year round.
A full set for each camp consists of 3 basketballs, 3 basketball nets,
3 basketball pumps, 3 volleyballs, 3 soccer balls, 3 jump ropes and 3
beach balls. This is a great project for a Sunday school or Youth
group. For specifics on the equipment needed, please contact Home Team Captain Rev. Kent Klophaus.
